I Never Believed in Love at First Sight – Until That Rainy Day
But everything changed on a rainy afternoon.
It was a normal day. The sky was grey, and people were rushing to avoid the rain. I was sitting in a small coffee shop near the bus station, scrolling through my phone without any real purpose. The smell of fresh coffee filled the air while soft music played in the background.
Then she walked in.
Her hair was slightly wet from the rain, and she looked around the shop searching for an empty seat. For a second, our eyes met. I don’t know why, but something felt different. It wasn’t like the dramatic movie scenes. It was calm… warm… strange in a beautiful way.
The shop was crowded, so I offered her the empty chair across from me.
“Thanks,” she said with a small smile.
That smile stayed in my mind longer than it should have.
We started talking casually — about the weather, the traffic, and the terrible network connection. Simple things. But somehow, the conversation felt easy, natural. Like we had known each other before.
Hours passed without us noticing.
Before leaving, she looked outside at the still-falling rain and laughed softly.
“I think the rain wanted us to meet today.”
I smiled, but deep inside, something had already changed.
After that day, we kept talking. Messages turned into calls. Calls turned into late-night conversations. Slowly, she became the favorite part of my everyday life.
And one night, while thinking about how everything started, I realized something.
Maybe love at first sight isn’t about instantly falling in love.
Maybe it’s about a single moment that quietly changes your heart forever.
Now, when people ask me if I believe in love at first sight, I just smile.
Because once upon a rainy afternoon…
I met someone who made me believe.
