I Met Her On A Rainy Day… And My Life Changed Forever 🌧️
The rain started suddenly that evening.
People were running everywhere trying to stay dry, but I just stood there under the old bus stop roof, watching the city lights blur through the storm.
That’s when I saw her.
She was standing a few feet away from me, holding a broken umbrella that barely worked. Her hair was wet, and she looked annoyed… but strangely beautiful at the same time.
I moved a little closer and quietly said,
“You can stand here if you want. There’s more space.”
She smiled softly.
“Thanks… my umbrella gave up on life today.”
I laughed.
For some reason, talking to her felt easy. Like we already knew each other.
We spent almost thirty minutes waiting for the rain to slow down.
She told me she loved rainy nights, old songs, and late-night conversations.
I told her I hated getting attached to people because they always leave eventually.
She looked at me for a few seconds before saying:
“Then don’t get attached to me.”
I should’ve listened.
Before leaving, she asked for my number.
That night, she texted first.
And after that… everything changed.
Every single day felt different.
We talked constantly — morning, afternoon, midnight. Sometimes until sunrise.
She would send random voice messages just to tell me about her day.
Sometimes she’d call me while it rained outside because she said my voice made storms feel peaceful.
Slowly, she became part of my routine.
Part of my life.
Then one night, during another long conversation, I finally asked:
“What are we?”
There was silence for a few seconds.
Then she replied:
“Something beautiful… but temporary.”
I didn’t understand what she meant.
Until later.
A week after that conversation, she suddenly disappeared.
No replies.
No calls.
No online status.
I checked my phone every hour like an idiot hoping her name would appear again.
Days passed.
Then, at exactly 1:43 AM on another rainy night, a message finally arrived.
“You were the best thing that happened to me. But some people are only meant to meet for a short time. Please don’t hate me.”
That was the last message she ever sent.
I still don’t know why she left.
But every time it rains…
I remember the girl with the broken umbrella who changed my life forever. 💔
